Oracle Financials Upgrade

Background
Burlington is a large off-price retail company, with over 1000 brick and mortar stores across the United States. Burlington Stores began in 1972 as a family run business, with one store in Burlington, New Jersey. In those early days, serving the customer was about delivering a broad selection of off-price coats and outerwear.

Challenge
Burlington’s current Oracle EBS version, R12.1.3, reached its end-of-life for Oracle Premier Support on December 31, 2021. Operating on an unsupported and outdated version increases complexity in maintaining optimal application performance and relies heavily on customizations to meet business needs. Burlington opted for Oracle MDS (Market Driven Support), a limited support option for critical code and security patches until its expiration at the end of 2024. Upon upgrading to version 12.2.12, Burlington will regain Oracle Premier support until 2033, with the added benefit of online patching capabilities.

Solution
After upgrading to version 12.2.12, customize the dashboard to display incorrect purchase orders and invoices. Introduce custom event-based alerts and notifications. Integrate the new Vertex system with Oracle AP and develop custom reports to ensure auditing of all supplier fields as per Burlington’s requirements. Additionally, utilize the upgraded Oracle solution for bulk uploads using ADI and consider implementing Oracle Analytics Cloud and EPM Cloud for reporting, which will resolve synchronization issues due to both being Oracle products with a default data syncing feature.
